Welcome to the Office of Academic Programs
The Office of Academic Programs serves the university in several vital ways. Among its areas of responsibility, the office assists faculty in the creation and implementation of new programs, including degree programs, minors, credentials, and certificates; oversees the process of program review; works with faculty on student learning assessment; supports the Provost in the university’s initiatives such as Graduation Initiative 2025; and provides oversight for the university’s international education.
Academic Programs also creates the university’s course catalog each year and schedules classes each term (Academic Scheduling Office). It makes recommendations to the administration and the Faculty Senate on academic matters, including academic calendar; managing the Intellectual Life Fund that supports campus-wide speaking events; ensures timely adoption of textbooks; and assists the Provost in the implementation of the university’s academic policies. The Office of Academic Programs also represents the Provost on CSU-system academic matters and represents the university in the regional accreditation process by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
