Program Content
No, the program has no prerequisites. The MS in Business Data Analytics accepts students from any field and background.
You’ll take 10 courses over three semesters - 3 courses ion your first semester; 4 courses in the second semester; 3 courses in the final semester. See a program roadmap on the Course Schedule and Dates button, and more details on the Information for Enrolled Students button. Blue buttons can be found to the right of the program webpage. This schedule makes it a 12-month program.
No, the program is delivered via Canvas in asynchronous format. This means you’ll follow the syllabus schedule for readings, assignments and exams, and watch pre-recorded lectures on your own schedule. Some class meeting may be offered, in which case they are recorded for those students who cannot attend due to work responsibilities.
The University limits transfer units to a maximum of 9. Contact the Student Advisor (see the program's main webpage for contact email or to schedule an advising appointment) to get more information about the information you need to provide to request transfer credit.
Program Operations
Yes. You may apply for federal aid via the FAFSA. You can apply every academic year. Graduate students are limited to receiving federal loans only. We also offer alternative loans through preferred lenders. You may find more information about financial aid, including alternative loans, on our Financing page.
The MS in Business Data Analytics programs runs in a cohort schedule, with each course offered in its own term and session. Also, courses build on each other with earlier courses foundational prerequisites for later courses. If you should need to take time off from the program, you’ll file a Leave of Absence with the University to hold your place. You’ll need to wait until the next cohort begins to re-enter. This can make your program take up to 3 years to complete. However, we know our students are busy and have many commitments. Thus, moving to a later cohort may work as long as students understand the effect on their time to completion. Students must arrange for the Leave of Absence with the Program Specialist after discussing their situation with the Program Director.
Program applications for Fall intake open in October of the year prior to the program start. The deadline is usually in July prior to the August start date for each Fall term. At this time, we do not offer a Spring intake but this may change in the future.
