Earn up to 4 units with Winter Intersession 2027
Winter Intersession is a three-week session between fall and spring. Knock out a prerequisite, pick up a class that's usually full, or add the units that move you closer to graduation. There are no mandatory campus fees, and for the first time, financial aid may apply.

How to Lock in Winter Intersession
Three weeks, one class, done before spring starts. Here's how to make it work for you.
- Ask Financial Aid. Email Financial Aid and ask what applies to winter. A quick question now can save you a surprise later.
- Pick your class. The Winter Class Schedule posts October 12. Check your degree audit or ask your advisor so it counts.
- Register. Registration runs November 9 through December 17. Seats are limited, so register once you've picked your class.
Financial Aid Now Covers Winter Intersession
New this year, financial aid may apply to Winter Intersession. Whether it covers your class depends on your individual aid package, your remaining eligibility for the year, and the units you take.
Email the Office of Financial Aid before you register and ask what applies to winter. Then you'll know exactly what to expect when fees come due.
Not a CSUSB Student? You Can Still Take a Winter Class
Students from other colleges, returning students, and community members can enroll in Winter Intersession through Open University. There's no admission application, and your units appear on an official CSUSB transcript.
Open University tuition for winter is $340 per unit with no campus fees.
