AFROTC Det002 Application Process
The Detachment 002 application process consists of three required steps. Applicants must complete all three steps and follow the instructions provided for each step.
Step 1: WINGS Account and Preliminary Information
To complete Step 1, you must:
- Create a WINGS account. (Wings Enrollment Guide)
- Complete all questions and tasks listed on your WINGS account to-do list. Do not upload any documents at this time.
Fill out Det 002 CSUSB Air Force ROTC Interest and Preliminary Information Form
Please answer every question completely and accurately. The form will request information regarding your:- Full legal name and date of birth
- Completion of the initial WINGS account tasks
- Citizenship status
- Full-time student status
- School of attendance
- Academic standing
- Cumulative college GPA, if applicable
- Anticipated graduation date
- Understanding of the Department of the Air Force drug-use policy
Applicants attempting to complete AFROTC as a three-year cadet must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA in previous college coursework and must pass a Physical Fitness Assessment on a date to be determined.
- Review the sports-physical requirement.
A sports physical is not due during Step 1, but it must be completed before you begin the program. AFROTC Form 28 must be completed and signed by a physician or qualified medical professional. Additional submission instructions will be provided later. Please have your physician administering the physical fill out the Form 28. If they are unwilling, we will accept the qualified sports physical correspondence that they provide. Prepare for a potential pre-ROTC Physical Fitness Assessment.
Due to the number of applicants, you may be required to complete a Physical Fitness Assessment before admission. The assessment consists of:- Two-minute hand release push-ups (YouTube Video)
- One minute of sit-ups
- A two-mile run
A minimum overall score of 75 is required to pass. If an assessment is required, additional instructions and the testing date will be provided.
After you complete and submit Step 1, you will be added to the Detachment 002 interest list and sent directions for completing Step 2. You will remain on the interest list until Steps 2 and 3 have been completed.
Submission of Step 1 does not guarantee acceptance into AFROTC.
