Asset Based Teaching

Welcome to our list of resources on asset and strength-based teaching. Our curated collection includes books such as "Strengths Finder 2.0" by Tom Rath and "Life's Great Question" by Tom Rath, which help individuals discover their unique strengths and contributions to the world that can be brought into the curriculum. We also feature "Now, Discover Your Strengths" by Marcus Buckingham and Donald O. Clifton, a classic resource that offers a revolutionary approach to understanding individual talents and strengths. For those interested in the intersection of culture, race, and education, we have included "Whose Culture Has Capital?" by Tara J. Yosso, as well as "The Theory and Practice of Culturally Relevant Education" by Brittany Aronson and Judson Laughter. Additionally, our list offers a report on resiliency initiatives, "A Strengths-Based Perspective" by Wendy Hammond and Ruth Zimmerman, and a research-based guide for improving student learning, "Organizing Instruction and Study to Improve Student Learning" by Harold Pashler and colleagues. Finally, we provide a link to "Growth Mindset Interventions for Postsecondary Students" by the What Works Clearinghouse, an evidence-based resource for educators and learners. We hope this diverse collection of resources will inspire and inform your professional growth. Feel free to share these with your colleagues and suggest others to us.
