Experiential Learning Opportunities

CALL FOR FACULTY PARTICIPANTS

Support for Teachers Using High-impact Practices:

Pathways to Success Title V grant is aiding teachers using experiential learning. We seek to support experiential learning through interdisciplinary and intercampus projects within the arts and humanities at California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB), Norco College (NC) and San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC)

What is Experiential learning? Experiential learning opportunities for students enable them to engage in high-impact practices involving interdisciplinary, co-curricular, and/or cross-campus projects. These projects can emerge from courses and enable students to collaborate with students from other disciplines, thus mirroring the type of joint tasks typical in the workplace. Cross-campus projects will enable students from NC and/or SBVC to collaborate with CSUSB students, thus exposing students at the community colleges to the opportunities available at a 4-year institution such as CSUSB

These projects could take place in single courses, across courses, and/or involve community partners. Projects might include activities usually performed by several people with different skills, each contributing different pieces to the overall creation of the project. For instance, students enrolled in English, Graphic Design, and Music Industry courses may come together to collaborate on a project jointly developed by faculty members in those courses.
