How many classes does the program contain?

You’ll take 9, 3-unit classes plus complete 3-unit culminating experience course. The total units earned is 3. In addition students take 0-unit CPA-prep courses each term for credit/no-credit

Do I attend scheduled lectures by Zoom?

No, the program is delivered via Canvas in asynchronous format. This means you’ll follow the syllabus schedule for readings, assignments and exams, and watch pre-recorded lectures on your own schedule. Some class meeting may be offered, in which case they are recorded for those students who cannot attend due to work responsibilities.

What experience does the faculty have in real-world accounting?

Our faculty are accounting practitioners as well as respected professionals in their respective fields. Many hold CPA licenses. They are committed to the success of our students.

Do I have choices of elective courses?

The curriculum is planned and offered in a cohort schedule. With rare exceptions, students work straight through the courses over three terms (Fall-Fall). The elective courses are built into the schedule.

Can I transfer in courses from a previous program?

The University limits transfer units to a maximum of 9. Contact the Student Advisor to get more information about the information you need to provide to request transfer credit.

What if I need prerequisites to qualify for admission?

Our Accounting Certificate Program provides a pathway for all five of the prerequisites for the MSA program. The Certificate is a 6-month program that is offered twice a year – starting January or August. Students may take only the MSA prerequisites or the entire Accounting Certificate program.

Additional Financing Options

We encourage students to inquire with their employers about tuition support or reimbursement. Many scholarship dollars go unawarded each year; social clubs, affinity organizations, member organizations, professional organizations and others may offer scholarship opportunities.

We take workforce and retraining funds. Contact the Program Specialist for more details. We also accept several military-related funding chapters.

Students may request payment plans, which must be signed and completed before the payment deadlines each term. Alternative loans from preferred lenders can be used for all or a portion of tuition and fees.
