The Bachelor of Arts in Administration Online program currently assess a flat fee rate of $475 per semester unit.  As most courses in the program are 3 units, the standard rate per course is $1,425.

Payment

It is the financial responsibility of the student to complete any tuition payments by the assigned deadline date.  Additionally, it is the responsibility of the student to formally drop any courses in which they choose to withdraw from within the respective CEGE - Census deadline dates.

Financial Aid 

Financial aid programs provide support for students to help meet the costs of obtaining a college education. Funding for such programs is provided by the federal and state governments, the individual colleges and universities, and a variety of other public and private sources. With the exception of some scholarships, everyone must use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) to apply for aid.


Third Party Payment

Third Party Payments of tuition and fees may be received from an Employer, Military, Department of Vocational Rehabilitation or other.  To initiate this form of payment, please contact the CEGE  Financial Services Department prior to the semester.

Self-Payment

Tuition and fee payments are made through the financial assessment of the individual.


Installment Payment Plan (IPP)

CSUSB - CEGE offers enrolled students standard payment plans each term to students who are in good financial standing with the University.  The IPP agreement allows students to pay tuition in up to four installments over the duration of the course. All fees must be paid in full prior to the last day of the course.

CEGE students should submit all payments through the online system managed by the Professional and Continuing Education Program.  We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. The Student and Financial Services Department accepts phone payments Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

All students are encouraged to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as they apply for the program, and are encouraged to visit the CSUSB Financial Aid Website. 

How It Works

Financial aid programs provide support for students to help meet the costs of obtaining a college education. Funding for such programs is provided by the federal and state governments, the individual colleges and universities, and a variety of other public and private sources.

  • Prepare: Familiarize yourself with the types of aid available, how much aid you'll need, and whether you're eligible.
  • Apply: With the exception of some scholarships, everyone must use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) to apply for aid. When you're ready to apply, fill out the online FAFSA®.
  • Receive: The Department of Education will inform you and CSUSB about your Expected Family Contribution (EFC). Then, CSUSB will tell you how much and what types of aid you qualify for. Check your CSUSB email often - this is the mode by which we communicate with you.
  • Repay: If your aid is in the form of loans, become familiar with the repayment process. Loans are legal obligations, so before you take out a student loan, think about the amount you'll have to repay over the years.

Categories

Financial aid is split up into two categories based on the reason the money is awarded. 

  • Achievement-based aid is awarded to students who have a special characteristic, skill, talent, or ability. Typically achievement-based aid is in the form of scholarships.
  • Need-based aid is provided to students who demonstrate financial need. Most financial aid, particularly public-funded aid, is awarded on the basis of financial need determined through the application process and in accordance with a prescribed federal formula.

There are 4 Basic Types of Financial Aid Programs Available

  • GRANTS: Federal or state gift assistance with no obligation for work or repayment
  • LOANS: Providing funds now, but with a future repayment obligation
  • SCHOLARSHIPS: Gift assistance with no obligation for work or repayment
  • WORK-STUDY: Part-time work while attending the institution

Most often, financial aid will come to you in the form of a package consisting of a combination of the different types of aid available. The combination of aid offered depends on the availability of funds, your eligibility, the timeliness with which the application process is completed, and your year in school.

CEGE is a self-support degree program and students may have limited eligibility for certain types of Federal and California State student aid.

CEGE Refund Policy 

Refund checks are mailed approximately 2-4 weeks after the withdrawal request is received by the College of Extended and Global Education. Refunds for credit card payments are credited back to the original card number.

Refunds

Full Refund

In order to receive a full refund of tuition fees paid, a student must notify the College of Extended and Global Education in writing to cancel registration and drop all courses prior to the first day of classes. Please note, however, that some courses are non-refundable, regardless of drop date. Please see specific program and/or course refund deadlines.

Students may also receive a refund of tuition fees, under the following circumstances:

  • The tuition and other program or course fees were assessed or collected in error; or
  • The course or program for which the tuition or program or course fees were assessed or collected was cancelled; or
  • The student was activated for compulsory military service.

Partial Refund

Students withdrawing after the first day of the course will receive a pro-rated refund in accordance with the specific course or program refund policy and established deadlines.


No Refund

No student withdrawing after the program specific deadlines will be entitled to a refund of any course or program tuition fees.


Refund Appeals

Students who are not entitled to a refund as described above may petition for a refund demonstrating exceptional circumstances.  Students may mail or email an Appeal along with any applicable documentation.

Program Note

Drop deadline dates and refund polices vary by program. Students should defer to the specific policies, requirements and deadline dates of the respective CEGE program.  

  • It is each student's responsibility to formally withdraw from classes and meet the conditions described above to receive a refund.
  • Some courses are non-refundable, regardless of drop date.
  • Application Fees, Late Registration Fees, Coyote One Card Fee and Administrative Fees are not refundable.
  • A refund processing fee of $25.00 plus any outstanding fees or charges may be deducted from the refund. Courses that cost $75 or less will incur a $10 processing fee.
  • Not attending a class, notifying the instructor, stopping payment on a check/credit card, or failure to redeem a check that was returned for non-sufficient funds, does not constitute officially dropping the course, or release you from the financial obligation to pay the course fees.

Why do I have a past due account hold?

Students with a past due balance will have a hold placed on registration and may not be enrolled by the Academic Advisor until the past due balance is paid in full and or the student is placed on an Installment Payment Plan (IPP) and meets the CEGE - Financial Services eligibility requirements for enrollment. 

Please allow at least 1-3 business days for your registration hold to be released from your account after making a payment online and or establishing an IPP.  If your hold is not released in 1-3 business days and or if you have additional questions regarding your past due balance, please email either Maria Cobian at maria.cobian@csusb.edu or Laura Mosqueda at laura.mosqueda@csusb.edu.

What can I do if I or my family have experienced a change in my financial situation?

Students who have experienced a significant change in their household financial situation are strongly encouraged to contact Financial Services and their Academic Advisor to discuss additional support alternatives.

When will I receive my Financial Aid money?

Disbursement of Funds

When a student accepts his or her financial aid disbursement (payment), he or she is agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of his or her financial aid award.

Financial Aid Disbursements for a term begin 10 days before the first day of class.

The disbursement will be paid to a preferred bank account if the student has completed the procedures for Direct Deposit*. Otherwise, a student must allow a minimum of 5 business processing days for a check to be prepared and for the US Post Office to deliver the check to the mailing address of record.

There could be several reasons why a student misses the first disbursement of the semester (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Problem with admission status
  • Late enrollment
  • Direct Loan requirements not completed (MPN not signed and/or online workshop not completed, etc.)
  • Financial aid hold
  • Did not meet Satisfactory Academic Progress
  • Not Enrolled
  • Other

*It is recommended that the student enroll in the direct deposit program to expedite the receipt of funds. The process is easy and completed right from the MyCoyote Student Self-Service account. On the homepage select Student Center/Finance/Enroll in Direct Deposit. On the Direct Deposit page, select checking or savings, enter your bank routing and account numbers, agree to Terms and Submit. You will need to confirm your information before the enrollment process is completed. Once you have successfully completed the process, your financial aid disbursement (payment) will be automatically credited (paid) to your designated bank account.

Visit your myCoyote Student Account Dashboard to view how much financial aid you are expected to receive and any remaining financial balances.  Students may also view the section, 'Tuition and Fees' in preparation for any remaining balances that may occur.

What type of financial aid awards are there?

Federal Pell Grant

  • This is a grant provided by the federal government to help pay for educational expenses. Federal Pell Grants are awarded to students who display exceptional financial need and have not earned a bachelor’s, graduate, or professional degree.

State University Grant

  • The State University Grant (SUG) is a CSU system wide award provides need-based awards to eligible students who are California residents or otherwise determined as eligible, such as AB 540-eligible students.

Cal Grants

  • A Cal Grant is money for college; it does not require repayment. To qualify, you must apply for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) by the deadline and meet the eligibility and financial requirements as well as any minimum GPA requirements. Your eligibility will be based on your FAFSA or CADAA responses, your verified Cal Grant GPA , the type of California colleges you list on your FAFSA, and whether you’re a recent high school graduate.

Direct Loans

  • Direct Loans are offered through a loan program administered by the federal government. These are financial aid awards that need to be repaid. Direct Subsidized Loans are loans made to eligible undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need to help cover educational costs. Direct Unsubsidized Loans are loans made to eligible undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, but eligibility is not based on financial need.

Where can I find more information related to financial aid resources?
Why do I still have a balance on my account if I dropped classes before census?

Students must drop all courses before the term begins in order to receive a full refund for the term*.  Students who drop courses after the term begins will be responsible for paying a portion of the tuition and fees.   

  • Course drop requests received prior to the start of the term/session will be eligible for a 100% refund less a $25 administrative fee.
  • Course drop requests received after the course start date but before the census deadlines are eligible for a 65% refund less a $25 administrative fee.
  • Course drop requests received after the census deadline are not eligible for a refund, and will require a Petition to Drop After Census form to be submitted.

 

 


*6 semester units: Typically, this would be considered half-time for Financial Aid.
*9 semester units: Typically, this would be considered three-quarter time for Financial Aid.
*12 semester units: Typically, this would be considered the minimum for full-time Financial Aid.
*Payment by phone: Summer Office Hours, Monday-Thursday 7:00 am -5:30 pm and Friday-Sunday, closed. Campus will be closed on Fridays.  
*Fees are subject to change.
*Dropping a course: Subject to a $25 administrative fee.
