Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder: Information & Interventions for Effective Teaching

The College of Extended and Global Education is proud to partner with Virtual Education Software (VESi), a leading provider of accredited online courses for educators. 

Online courses work with your schedule, allowing you to participate when it’s most convenient for you. Each course instructor is available for professional questions by e-mail or a toll-free phone number. Courses are offered for either 3 or 4.5 semester units of continuing education-level credit. Most students can complete 3-unit courses in about 30 hours and 4.5-unit courses in about 45 hours. You may register for these courses at any time during the semester however you have 16 weeks to finish the course from the time of enrollment.

EDUC 3317. This course will help you achieve a better understanding of ADD and intervention strategies to facilitate positive student change. Learn the history of the disorder, accepted methods of assessment and identification, and various methods, medications and strategies that are currently used to treat it. For situations requiring services beyond what can be provided in the classroom, the referral process for getting help for students will be addressed. Reference materials include a list of resources for both teachers and parents who would like more help or information about ADD or ADHD.
