Parent and Family Orientation Dates

CSUSB Parent and Family Orientation is a one-day program that is in conjunction with your students Orientation session. Parent and Family Orientation is only available during the first-year programs in June, July and August.
Orientation registration will open April 2019. The following are the dates we are offering Parent and Family Orientation sessions. These dates are based on the date your student will be attending their own two-Day Orientation session. Due to space being limited and available on a first come, first-served basis, it is advised that you register as soon as possible. The deadline dates are also listed below.

Parent and Family Orientation Fee is $40 per person.

This fee covers all costs associated with the program including breakfast, lunch, staffing, materials and logistics. The charge is a per-person fee for all participants. Orientation and First Year Experience include a program fee because the Orientation Office receives no funding from the university or the state. The Parent and Family Orientation fee associated with our program is charged to your credit card at the time your register to attend Parent and Family Orientation. Please do not send payment to the Orientation Office.


Payment for Parent and Family Orientation must be completed at the time of registration. Once your credit card, debit card, or electronic check payment is processed, please print out 2 copies, one for your records and the other to present at check-in. If you are unable to pay on-line, you must contact our office in order to arrange payment. All payment arrangements must be made at least 5 business days prior to Orientation.

Cancelation & Refund Policy

A written cancellation and refund request must be submitted via email to at least one week prior to your parent / family orientation date.

You may also mail in your refund request to Orientation and First Year Experience Office, 5500 University Parkway, San Bernardino, CA 92407.  Mailed request must be received one week prior to your parent-family orientation date, not just postmarked.

Refund requests should include the following information:

  • Participant’s First and Last Name
  • Parent / Family Orientation Date
  • Reason for requesting a refund
  • Name of payee being reimbursed
  • Method of payment (credit card, debit card, electronic check)
  • Student’s First and Last Name
  • Student’s University ID Number

Approved refunds will be processed the first week of each month.  An e-mail confirmation of the approved refund will be e-mailed to the address you provided with your original payment. All refunds will incur a 25% processing fee that will be subtracted from the amount of the refund.  

Requests made after the one week deadline cannot be honored due to ordering of food and supplies. This includes if you miss or choose not to attend your scheduled Parent and Family Orientation date.
