What do you like about CSUSB? I like how inclusive and diverse CSUSB is. I feel like I belong and I am able to find people who support me for who I am. I love that their curriculum requires you to study something that you usually would not and you are able to learn much more about the community and world.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-year or transfer student? A piece of advice I would give to a first-year or transfer student is, do not be scared of going into a new place like CSUSB because you will able to find great people that are going to support you with anything or just to get involved into campus. You are not alone through your path, you will find friends or faculty to help you to be the person you want to be.

What do you like about CSUSB? What I like about CSUSB is how welcoming and friendly people are on campus. Especially some of the professors on campus who make it so enjoyable to be in class and genuinely want to see you succeed.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-year or transfer student? The advice I would give is do not be afraid to ask questions. There is always something new you can learn from either other students or professors. If you need help with something reach out and ask don't feel like you need to figure it out alone and in silence, that's what we are here for to help you.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-year or transfer student? I would suggest having a game plan for the semester. What I mean by that is having a set of goals for the semester and continue to build on those time management skills. I cannot stress enough the importance of being able to manage one's time well as sometimes college life can become a bit overwhelming. My best friend during my time at CSUSB has been my planner, where I keep track of all my to dos on a weekly and monthly basis.

What is one piece of advice you would give to a first-year or transfer student? The advice that I can give you is to not neglect your mental health. Though this is an amazing school, the workload can be overwhelming for many and thus we tend to neglect our mental state. Especially at this time it’s important that you prioritize your health so you can be the best possible version of yourself. What’s great too is that there are so many resources for this, so make sure to take advantage of them.

Where is your favorite place on campus? Why? Temporary Classrooms 15-17; these buildings are where I’ve had some of my best classes and are a good place to relax!

Aside from getting involved & trying to meet new people, I advise students to use their resources that are provided on campus. There are many different workshops that can help you succeed in your classes, so take advantage!

Also, try to get involved by attending workshops and getting to know the faculty in your specific major
