Community Outreach
Since 2015, the CSUSB Center for Cyber & AI has been on a mission to bring Cybersecurity and AI awareness beyond campus walls. What started as a small but passionate effort has grown into one of the most active outreach programs on CSUSB campus reaching over 55,000 people with 1253 student volunteers giving more than 370,000 hours of their time.
The Center works hand-in-hand with student organizations like the Cyber Intelligence and Security Organization (CISO), Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) Club, and the Cybersecurity Mentorship Program (CMP), to put on more than 60 events every academic year. From elementary schools to colleges and everything in between, we show up where people are and make Cybersecurity and AI feel accessible.
Just in the 2024â2025 academic year, we connected with more than 3,800 people through lab tours hosted on our campus, K-12 school visits, our annual Open House event and more, with our outreach efforts being powered by our CSUSB cyber students.
In addition to hosting and visiting schools, we also host recruitment visits from organizations such as, but not limited to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County & the Inland Empire, SoCal Edison, and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to expose our students to local and government connections with top employers in the field.

Outreach Opportunities:
- School Visits (Kâ12): We bring cybersecurity and AI awareness directly to classrooms, engaging students at all levels with hands-on activities and career inspiration.
- Lab Tours: Open to the public, our on-campus lab tours give visitors an up close look at the cybersecurity clubs and AI technology, our academic programs, and how to get involved with the Center.
- Open House: Held on the CSUSB campus, Open House invites prospective students, families, and community members to explore everything the Center has to offer.
- Community Organization Engagements: We partner with community groups and organizations to deliver tailored cybersecurity and AI awareness presentations and activities.
- Cybersecurity & AI Awareness Workshops: Interactive workshops designed to educate participants on key topics in cybersecurity and AI, from digital safety basics to emerging technologies.
