Outside/Off-Campus Scholarships
Off-campus scholarships are provided by external organizations not directly affiliated with CSUSB, such as community organizations, private companies, religious groups, and more. While numerous opportunities are available, successfully finding and applying for these scholarships requires time, organization, and persistence. The more scholarships you apply for, the greater your chances of being awarded financial assistance.
Disclaimer:
All outside scholarships (e.g., booster club awards, local scholarships) received by CSUSB students, including student-athletes, must be reported to the Financial Aid Office for review within 30 days of receipt. Outside scholarships may impact your individual/team scholarship limits and eligibility, including athletic awards.
Even if funds are received directly from the awarding agency, you are required to report them to both the Financial Aid and Compliance Offices to ensure proper tracking and avoid potential issues with your financial aid or eligibility.
A copy of the external/outside scholarship award letter or email must be submitted to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships to properly manage your account. Students can drop copies either in-person at University Hall-120 or online via the Financial Aid and Scholarships Document Upload Tool, available on our website within 30 days of receipt.
Scholarship Search Engines
Scholarship Search Engines are tools students can use to locate other scholarship opportunities. Students provide a profile, and the search engine alerts them to scholarship opportunities that match their criteria. Listed below are just a few examples of Scholarship Search Engines that students may use:
- FastWEB is one of the largest scholarship search engines on the Internet. It provides access to a searchable database of more than 275,000 private sector scholarships, fellowships, grants, and student loans available to students.
- iGrad Scholarship Search engine
- The Scholarships.com provides a free college scholarship search and financial aid information. It assists parents and students in obtaining scholarship awards for college and in exploring all financial aid you may be eligible to receive. It also provides information and resources of local, state, and national scholarships and grant opportunities, in addition to the Federal and private loan options for funding a college education.
