Katrina McDowell, '05, Chair


My name is Katrina McDowell and I'm a CSUSB Alumni. I went on to get my graduate degree and I'm presently working at the Cal San Bernardino's Palm Desert Campus as a Parking Officer. I hope to bring our Alumni back so that they may enjoy homecoming and various other events each year at Cal State.

Ayana Cobb, Secretary 

Class of 2025

Ayana Cobb is an army veteran with several military & professional awards and honors. In 2024, as a dean student she transferred from Long Beach City College to Cal State San Bernardino, joined BSU, was appointed the student representative on the BFSSA Committee, served as BSU brand consultant and production manager. In 2025, she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a Concentration in Relational and Organizational. She has an extensive criminal justice background and multiple educational degrees including working with several prominent nonprofit organizations that advocate for veterans and students. She and her beautiful daughter were born in the Midwest, but they were raised in Southern California. She works in entertainment management and brand consulting but is not limited to production management. In 2021, she was one of the few selected to assist with Governor Newsom’s event held at Long Beach City College. She has extensive experience working with community and government organizations. Her goal is to empower, encourage and remind students “Remember who you are!” and that passionate people coming together isn’t a threat to the table but an asset to the common good.
 

Bynum

 Evajuani D. Bynum, '17


Evajuani D. Bynum is an esteemed Financial coach, drawing upon a wealth of experience spanning over three decades, and she is at the helm of Bynum's Business Solutions. As both the Chief Executive Officer and the visionary founder of the company, her specialization lies in crafting and guiding Personalized Financial Plans for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit organizations. Since its inception in 2004, Bynum's Business Solutions has emerged as a front runner in the field of financial coaching, providing cutting-edge accounting and tax services in the United States. Their repertoire of Financial services encompasses accounting, tax planning, payroll management, and consulting. Their unwavering commitment to ensuring that "The Right Fit Is Made Simple" underscores their approach, delivering tailored solutions to every client. In their pursuit to broaden the reach of financial coaching, Bynum's Business Solutions sponsors a YouTube channel titled "Fueled By Intentions," dedicated to the core pillars of Faith, Family, Finances, Fitness, and Fun. Through this platform, they aim to empower individuals with financial education and guide them toward achieving financial fitness. Evajuani boasts a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Masters of Science degree from California State University, San Bernardino, with a specialization in accounting. She holds a Certified Public Accountant license in the State of California and has spent more than two decades working as an auditor for the State of California. Furthermore, Evajuani serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the Inland Empire Housing Education and Community Support Services, a nonprofit corporation, and assumes the role of Managing Partner at Keystone Home Solutions. Beyond her extensive professional achievements, Evajuani's ultimate passion is rooted in her unwavering faith and commitment to living in accordance with the teachings of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She resides in San Bernardino, California, alongside her husband of 26 years, Shannon Bynum. An avid reader with a zest for the outdoors, she enjoys activities such as running, biking, hiking, and swimming.

English

Herbert L. English Jr., '00, Board Member


 Herb” has 20 years of experience in higher education with 17 of those years in the California Community College system. Herb currently serves as the Dean of Counseling and Specially Funded Programs at Riverside City College in Riverside, California.

In addition, Herb has served on numerous college, district, and state-wide committees throughout his career and has been active in several community organizations including serving on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Gils Club of San Bernardino, African American Male Educational Network and Development (A²MEND) and the Chief Student Services Officer Association.  Herb is an innovative leader that has a history of developing programs and services that foster both student access and success, including the development of targeted programs for historically underserved populations.

Herb has also worked as an Emergency Response Social Worker for Riverside County Child Protective Services and Executive Director/ Director of Operations of the Boys & Girls Club of San Bernardino. Herb is member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and committed to local youth, primarily African American males inspiring them to pursue a college education.

Garrett

Alton Garrett , '98, Board Member


Mr. Garrett is a graduate of California State University, San Bernardino, with a Masters Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois.  He has also completed the Fund-Raising School (Basic Principles of Fund Raising), conducted by Indiana University Extension, San Francisco, California.

He is the Managing Partner, Garrett Management Group (GMG), LLC. GMG is a full-service company that is unique in its approach to all its clients. GMG develops, executes, and manages festivals for clients and also produces a variety of events under the banner of GMG.  For the past four years, GMG has managed that stages for the annual National Orange Show Citrus Fair. He has also provided the entertainment for the annual Ronald McDonald House fundraiser. Mr. Garrett is an expert in the field of entertainment, event planning and execution and brings vast experience in the procurement of talent and the security of personnel involved with events and also those attending.  Garrett Management Group, LLC was established in 2013 and is the combination of Garrett Management Enterprises (est. 1995), an event planning company and the desire to move the organization into the festival/concert management arena.

Mr. Garrett retired June 1, 1989, after serving over twenty-seven (27) years of faithful service to his country.  Mr. Garrett retired in the grade of Chief Master Sergeant (E-9).  He received numerous decorations and awards during his military career, including the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with seven oak leaf clusters, Vietnam Service Medal with five Bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm.

Roberson

Anthony Roberson, Board Member


Anthony serves as the Associate Director Of Operations for the Santos Manuel Student Union. He is dynamic student-centered student affairs professional with more than 15 years university and private industry experience in operations and facility management. Anthony is currently pursuing a degree in Career and Technical studies at CSUSB. He has also served as an advisor for the Student African American Brotherhood, an organization for males of color to achieve college success and enhance retention and graduation rates in college. Anthony is the President of the CSUSB Black Faculty, Staff, and Student Association; Anthony is chair of the Pioneer Breakfast is an annual CSUSB Black Faculty, Staff, and Student Association-sponsored event, which serves as a scholarship fundraiser for current CSUSB students. Roberson was instrumental in creating the Black Student Leadership Symposium for current African American high school students who aspire to go to college, which serves as a scholarship fundraiser for current CSUSB students. Roberson was instrumental in creating the Black Student Leadership Symposium for current African American high school students who aspire to college.
