Meet the Board

Priscilla Gutierrez

Class of 2014

Priscilla currently works for Riverside University Health System’s Medical Center overseeing the Materials Management and Value Analysis programs and ensuring quality patient care and being good custodians of taxpayer dollars is always at the forefront. In her role, she leads her teams in troubleshooting supply chain, fiscal, and administrative barriers to procuring goods and services for Riverside County’s safety net hospital. Her passion for public service and aiming to improve her community has been the driving force in her continued support of CSUSB and the Alumni Association. Priscilla has over 10 years of professional experience in the non-profit, healthcare, education, and customer service fields. She graduated from Cal State San Bernardino in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.

Edgar Astorga, Board Member Class of 2012, 2016

Edgar Astorga graduated from CSUSB in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science concentrating in Environmental Health Science and a minor in Chemistry, and in 2016 with a dual MBA concentrating in Entrepreneurship and Management. He became a board member of the Latino Alumni Chapter in 2020 and coordinates the virtual Cafecito monthly socials to keep our alumni community connected and reachable to current students. One of his goals as a board member is to connect our students with possible mentors and professionals in the field that relate to them by sharing the challenges they have faced throughout their professional careers and give them real-world advice. He has been employed at the CSUSB since 2012 in various offices. He currently forms part of the Office of Government Relations. His community involvement includes the Association of Latino Faculty, Staff and Students at CSUSB, he is an ally to the CSUSB Undocumented Student Resource and Success Center, Chicano Latino Caucus of San Bernardino County, the Los Angeles Poet Society, Tzu Chi Foundation Clinic, and Sigma Nu Tau, the Entrepreneurship Honor Society. Edgar's interest and hobbies include the arts such as poetry, dance, art museums, attending cultural open market events, and space science. He plays the guitar, translates Latin American poetry from Spanish to English to share at open mic events, loves to go out on random trips to explore, meet people, and make new friends and is an automotive enthusiast. His favorite piece of art is the Alexander Mosaic, his favorite musical group is Los Tigres del Norte, and he knows someday he will own a '71 Cuda and/or an FC RX7.

Felix Zuniga, Immediate Past Chair

Class of 2001, 2006

Felix Zuniga’s heart is invested in the Inland Empire, especially with students in the community and at CSU San Bernardino. In the time Felix has resided in the IE, he has participated in the support and development of students in his community. Most notably he has provided leadership to several organizations geared towards student leadership and development. Felix is currently the chair of the CSUSB Latino Alumni Chapter, Past president of the CSUSB Association of Latino Faculty Staff and Students, He serves on the Board of the University Diversity Committee, creator of the YotieTalks committee, and serves as a Diversity Trainer. Felix is the advisor for the Latino Business Students Association, Latinos on the Fast Track, and the IEFL Club at CSUSB. Externally, he serves on the boards of the Inland Empire Future Leaders, Kiwanis of Greater San Bernardino and is a mentor for the San Bernardino Valley College Puente Mentor Program. Felix is responsible for the creation of the Madrina/Padrino Mentorship program and one of the co-creators of the Black and Brown Young Men’s conference, going on its 4th year. Also served on the founding boards for the Latino Book and Family Festival and CSUSB Symposium on Race.

Mike Razo, Gift Fund Coordinator

Class of 1999

Henry “Michael” Razo, a proud CSUSB alumnus (BS Business Administration, Accounting), empowers the next generation of Coyotes through mentorship and leadership. Born and raised in Colton, he leverages his deep understanding of the Inland Empire to drive community progress. With over 25 years of financial expertise, Michael recently retired as a financial manager from San Bernardino City Unified School District, capping a distinguished career in accounting, tax auditing, and school business. His commitment to lifelong learning is evident in his academic journey, spanning SBVC, CSUSB, and the University of Redlands (MA Management).

A dedicated advocate for community engagement, Michael’s past leadership roles in the CSUSB Latino Business Students Association and Accounting Association laid the foundation for his continued service. He now serves as City Treasurer for the City of Colton, Treasurer for Col-Knights Corporation, and as a board member for the Lewis Center for Educational Research, CSUSB University Enterprises Corporation, and CJUSD Measure G Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee. He further invests in student success as an Education Mentor for The Puente Project at SBVC and by mentoring CSUSB students. As a co-founder of multiple Inland Empire organizations, he actively contributes to regional growth. Michael’s unwavering dedication to CSUSB and the Latino community makes him an invaluable asset to the Latino Alumni Association. Outside of his professional and civic endeavors, he enjoys music, hiking, golf, and quality time with family and friends.

Daniel Melendrez, Chair

Class of 1999

Daniel Melendrez serves as Director of Information Technology for the Superior Court of California, County of San Bernardino, where he provides leadership across technology, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and strategic initiatives supporting one of California’s largest court systems. With more than 25 years of experience across the public and private sectors, Daniel has built his career around using technology to strengthen organizations, improve services, and support the communities they serve.

A proud CSUSB alumnus, Daniel’s connection to the university began well beyond the classroom. As a student, he became a member of Delta Sigma Chi fraternity and was active in the Latino Business Students Association, where he served as secretary. Today, he continues that commitment to CSUSB through his service on the CSUSB Alumni Association Board of Directors and the Latino Alumni Chapter Board, while also mentoring students through the Coyote Network.

Daniel’s path at CSUSB was not a straight line. He entered the university as a biology major with aspirations of becoming a marine biologist, later explored computer science, and ultimately discovered the intersection of technology and business, earning his degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Computer Information Systems. Along the way, he balanced academics, campus involvement, and part-time work.

Those experiences helped shape Daniel’s approach to leadership and his belief in the importance of adaptability, perseverance, continuous learning, and giving back. Today, he brings those lessons full circle by remaining actively engaged with CSUSB and supporting the next generation of students and alumni.
