Power to the San Bernardino campus has been restored as of 9:55 a.m. Normal campus operations will resume Friday, July 26th. Essential staff with questions on whether to report should contact their appropriate administrator. Facilities Management will be working to check all building systems including HVAC, elevators and fire alarms. If power has not been restored in your work area when you return, please report that to Facilities Planning and Management at (909) 537-5175. The Palm Desert Campus remains open and operational.

ALFSS Scholarship Brochure

Application Criteria and Process

The ALFSS scholarship is an on-campus scholarship that is administered by the Financial Aid Office and Scholarships is available to all incoming and/or continuing CSUSB students. The ALFSS scholar is selected based on success in the areas of academic performance, volunteer and work experience, future educational and career goals and, most importantly, involvement and contributions to the Latino community

Application Process:

  • Complete the online application available (accessible via MyCoyote portal) to current CSUSB students and incoming CSUSB applicants with a Coyote ID.
  • Must be submitted electronically by March 2
  • Submit an autobiographical statement, a letter of recommendation is required to be uploaded into the application no later than two weeks after the application deadline by a teacher or faculty member.
  •  Select Latino Culture in the Cultural Interests section of the application as shown below.
  • Write a brief essay regarding their interest and involvement in Latino culture

Scholarship Requirements

Maintain a competitive grade point average. The determination of a competitive GPA will be base the applicant pool. Be a full-time undergraduate, credential or graduate student enrolled at CSUSB during the academic year. Complete the CSUSB on line scholarship application (accessible via MyCoyote). Provide one online letter of recommendation from a current or previous instructor. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California DREAM Act Application.
