The JHBC Office of Academic Equity is committed to fostering an equitable academic environment—one that is inclusive, responsive, and supportive of all faculty, staff, administrators, and students. At JHBC, equity is not just a goal but a shared responsibility: all members of our community play a role in creating and sustaining a learning environment where inclusive practices are embraced, structural barriers are addressed, and every individual has what they need to succeed.

The Office of Academic Equity is dedicated to transforming JHBC into a place where all can thrive and grow—by challenging inequities, closing opportunity gaps, and fostering belonging.

 

We strive to find new and inclusive ways to support students on their academic journeys. Educating students about systems of inequity and empowering them to be agents of change is essential to building a more just and equitable future. Students are the drivers of that change, and JHBC is the path they take to help make it happen.
