Power to the San Bernardino campus has been restored as of 9:55 a.m. Normal campus operations will resume Friday, July 26th. Essential staff with questions on whether to report should contact their appropriate administrator. Facilities Management will be working to check all building systems including HVAC, elevators and fire alarms. If power has not been restored in your work area when you return, please report that to Facilities Planning and Management at (909) 537-5175. The Palm Desert Campus remains open and operational.

  • Cal State Apply
    The first step to becoming a student in the Special Education Program is applying to the University. You must apply on-line at and submit official transcripts to Graduate Admissions from each institution of higher education you have ever attended.
  • Special Education Program Letter of Recommendation Form (PDF)
    Only this form will be accepted to meet the required letters of recommendation for the Program Admissions File. Please print out this form and give it to 2 different individuals who have familiarity with your teaching or educational experiences along with an envelope for the recommender to seal the form into before returning it to you.
  • Certificate of Clearance information/application
    Applicants who do not currently hold a permit or credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) must apply for a Certificate of Clearance and include this in the Program Admission File when it is granted.

  • New Student Orientation Handbook
    This handbook contains a description of all procedures for successfully completing credential programs in Special Education. It includes policies and procedures for both the program and the university. This handbook describes how to apply for Supervision, how to apply for credential recommendations, and provides contact information for faculty in the Special Education programs as well as Student Services.
  • Supervised Fieldwork Handbook
    This handbook is for Student Teachers, University Supervisors, Resident Teachers, and Principals. It contains a description of the requirements for supervised field experiences in special education as well as responsibilities for all parties.
