Power to the San Bernardino campus has been restored as of 9:55 a.m. Normal campus operations will resume Friday, July 26th. Essential staff with questions on whether to report should contact their appropriate administrator. Facilities Management will be working to check all building systems including HVAC, elevators and fire alarms. If power has not been restored in your work area when you return, please report that to Facilities Planning and Management at (909) 537-5175. The Palm Desert Campus remains open and operational.

Advisement

Students can get academic advising from program faculty. Academic advisement can be obtained by either scheduling an appointment with a faculty member or by coming in during a faculty member’s scheduled office hours.

Contact the department office for available program faculty advisors and their office hours.  Contact the department office staff in CE 243 for general information on the Special Education Programs including forms and documents requiring approval or signatures from program faculty and the program coordinator.

Faculty Office Hours

Each semester, faculty post their office hours on a sign outside their faculty office, and with their Department office staff. If you need information on faculty office hours for the current quarter, please contact the department office. Faculty advisors are available during regularly scheduled office hours to provide students who are admitted to the graduate program with:

  • support and information regarding the course that students are enrolled in with the faculty member
  • preparation of graduate program plans
  • recommendations for course substitutions from other colleges and universities for required graduate program coursework
  • recommendations for graduate student petitions for Waivers of University Regulations (see the Graduate Studies website for the waivers that require faculty recommendation).
