Dropping a Class
Students who wish to drop a course or withdraw from the program are required to submit a Drop Request. Drop Requests that are submitted by census, the last day of the registration adjustment period for a course, are eligible for a refund.
CEGE Refund Policy
Students who submit a drop request prior to the course start date will receive a full refund for the course(s), minus a $25 administrative fee. No record of the course attempt(s) will appear on transcripts.
Students who submit a drop request on or after the course start date, but before end of day on census will receive a 65% refund for the course(s), minus a $25 administrative fee. No record of the course attempt(s) will appear on transcripts.
Courses that are dropped after census are not eligible for a refund and will appear on your transcript with "W" as the grade.
Refund checks are mailed approximately 2-4 weeks after the official Drop Request is received. Refunds for credit card payments will be credited back to the original credit card.
Dropping After Census
Once the census deadline has passed, Drop Requests must take the additional step of being approved by the instructor, the program’s Faculty Director, and the Assistant Dean of the College of Extended & Global Education. The steps to drop a course after the census deadline has passed are as follows:
- Submit the official Drop Request (linked in the section above) and attach any documentation that supports your reason for requesting to drop after the deadline.
- A Petition to Drop After Census form will be routed to the student and other required parties via Adobe Sign for signature.
- Once the Petition to Drop After Census is completed by all parties, the drop(s) will be processed.
Any courses that are dropped after census will remain on the student’s transcript and receive a “W” as the final grade.
Student Responsibilities:
- It is the student’s responsibility to verify their student program plan prior to the Census deadline, as grades will be assigned for every course in which you are officially registered.
- Students must also ensure they drop any class(es) they do not plan to attend or complete by the Census deadline.
Tuition Appeal
Students who are not satisfied with their refund may appeal against the refund policy. To submit an appeal, complete the Application to Appeal for a Reversal of Tuition form and email the completed form to Bass@csusb.edu or mail it to:
