Early Orientation for Designated Subjects

The College of Extended and Global Education, in partnership with the College of Education, offers the online Early Orientation for Designated Subjects course to teachers entering the career and technical education field. The course must be completed within one month of entering the classroom to teach courses in high school, ROP, or Adult Education programs. Students have until census to register. The course is self-paced and self-directed, with interactive instructor support and guidance to facilitate student success. Prior experience with an online course is not required.

To be successful, students will need a computer with Internet access and reliable email, Microsoft Word or Open Office software, required textbooks, and a positive, problem-solving attitude. Upon registration, students will receive an electronic welcome letter containing a CSUSB login, textbook, and other course information.

  • Teachers entering the field of career and technical education
  • High school, ROP or Adult Education teachers

How to earn the certificate

Those who earn a grade of “B” or higher will receive a College of Extended and Global Education (CEGE) Certificate of Completion.
