Immersive Learning Space (PL003)
The Immersive Learning Space at CSUSB is a dedicated space where faculty, staff, and students can explore the future of teaching, learning, and training through cutting-edge immersive technologies. Located in the basement of the Pfau Library (PL003), the lab is designed to foster collaboration, inspire creativity, and enrich instruction by moving beyond traditional classroom boundaries. Here, participants can engage with virtual reality (VR) using META Quest 2 headsets and explore a growing library of immersive content that supports interactive experiences, deeper engagement, and stronger knowledge retention.
As part of the ITS Strategic Plan 3.4: Immersive Learning Spaces, the lab is a hub for experimentation and innovation. Faculty are encouraged to integrate immersive media into their teaching, enhancing hybrid and in-person courses with hands-on VR experiences. Students can expand their learning through immersive projects that strengthen self-efficacy and mastery of course material, while staff benefit from dynamic training simulations that support professional development. One current project includes VR safety training for the Performing Arts Center. Whether you want to experience VR for the first time, explore the content library, experiment with new teaching strategies, or collaborate on innovative projects, the Immersive Learning Lab provides the resources and support to bring your ideas to life. Join us in PL003 and discover how immersive technologies are transforming education at CSUSB.
