CSUSB Advances Classroom Technology with Campus-Wide Installation of Networked Power Distribution Units (12-15-2025)
California State University, San Bernardino is modernizing its classroom technology infrastructure through the installation of networked Power Distribution Units (PDUs) that enable secure, remote power cycling of audiovisual equipment. To date, 27 PDUs have been installed at the Palm Desert Campus and 110 at the San Bernardino Campus, with 127 additional units scheduled for installation to complete the university’s comprehensive PDU deployment project.
Networked PDUs allow the AV Support team to remotely monitor and control power to critical classroom equipment, including projectors, displays, computers, amplifiers, and control systems significantly reducing downtime and the need for in-person troubleshooting. With the ability to power-cycle devices instantly from a central location, technicians can resolve common issues quickly, restore functionality during classes, and improve the overall reliability of instructional spaces. This upgrade enhances service responsiveness, supports efficient campus operations, and strengthens the university’s commitment to providing faculty and students with dependable, cutting-edge learning environments.
