The focus of current research is on the local and regional water and air quality issues that impact communities, the purpose is to investigate the environmental quality parameters that influence public health and ecosystems. To reach our goals, the lab relies on analytical instrumentation and spatial analysis tools, and scientific methods.
The student-faculty collaborative research progresses to apply Spectroscopy techniques, Geospatial, and statistical analysis to evaluate the scientific understanding of water quality issues. The field sampling at various spatial and temporal intervals is carried out to construct geospatial variance by applying the GIS and statistical tools. The resulting data and knowledge on environmental and public health will be useful for improving sustainable community outcomes and health risk mitigation practices.
