Application Process

AFROTC Det002 Application Process

The Fall 2021 Application window closed on 27 Aug 2021.

Three-year program cadets must have applied during the Fall 2021 term for those who were to graduate at the end of Spring 2024; this is no longer possible. 

The Application window for the Spring 2022 is now open for four-year applicants who will earn their bachelor's degree at the end of Spring 2025.  

Only 4 year program (3.5 year) applicants will be able to join during the Spring semester (2022).



In order to begin your online application, please follow the steps below:

  1. All new applicants will go to the following website to create a WINGS account: account creation

  2. You will then complete a series of "To-do list" questions and forms to complete the application process - Do not upload anything in the "Supporting Documents" section yet

  3. Please email once you have completed filling out all of the required online forms - We do not get automatically notified when accounts are created.

  4. Attend one of our Prospective Applicant Briefings so you understand the process and ROTC program.

Once you have completed the steps above AND INFORMED US VIA EMAIL, we will review your application. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive further instructions and forms via email to complete the steps below:

  1. Answer and complete all forms sent by us exactly as instructed (you do NOT need to get any forms notarized).

  2. Log into the WINGS account you created at: WINGS

  3. Upload your completed documents in the Supporting Documents section.

  4. Please email us back ( once you have completed filling out all of the required forms.

  5. If you have any questions along the way, please don’t hesitate to email us at

  6. You will then be given instructions on the next phase of the application


After completion of the steps above, we will again review your application and contact you with the instructions below:

Thank you for completing the online portion of the AFROTC application process.  All applicants will meet at FO-144 by 9:00 am on Application Day with all required documentation (listed below). For your attire please dress as if you were interviewing for a job. AFROTC is a program seeking to create future professional US Air Force Officers. 

Applicants will be required to bring the following items with them to Application Day (BRING COPIES OF EVERY DOCUMENT YOU BRING):

  1. Photo Identification (driver’s license or government ID is preferred)

  2. Original & Copy of Signed Social Security Card (must be signed & must have original or will not be accepted)

  3. Original & Copy of Birth Certificate or true copy with a raised seal

  4. Original & Copy of Naturalized Citizen Certificate or proof of in-process of naturalization (this does not apply to you if you have a USA Birth Certificate)

You must bring digital (scanned) copies ( all of the below forms/items:

  1. College Transcripts (unofficial copies are acceptable) 

  2. Selective Service Number Verification Printout (males only) -Visit website in order to register and/or print your number

  3. SAT and/or ACT testing scores (if available)

  4. Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Certificate (if applicable)

  5. Copy of Boy/Girl Scout, Eagle Scout Award, Girl Scout Senior Award with Gold Palm Certificate (if applicable)

  6. Civil Air Patrol Award Certificate (if applicable)

  7. Copy of Immunization Records (including COVID-19 if applicable)

  8. Department of Defense Form 214 (prior service only, bring copy #4)

  9. DD Form 785 (if attended a prior commissioning program)

Applicants not possessing all of the above items will be turned away and unable to apply for the AFROTC program. Please ensure that you make a copy of each document and bring in both the copy and the original.
