Unlocking the secrets of atmospheric pollution with JPL's lidar and ozonesonde balloons
The Jet Propulsion Laboratory installed a lidar system on campus, near the Facilities Management building, to measure the vertical distribution of pollution, focusing on ozone and aerosols. It is part of a broader effort to enhance scientists’ knowledge of pollution in mountainous regions, where unique atmospheric dynamics are at play.

The closing ceremony featured state assemblymember and CSUSB alumnus James C. Ramos, bird singers and words of wisdom from CSUSB Indigenous leaders.

The handbook was developed by students enrolled in CSUSB’s master’s in human resources program and presented to the owners of Portals Entertainment Group by Tomás Gómez-Arias, dean of Cal State San Bernardino’s Jack H. Brown College of Business & Public Administration.

CSUSB was well represented by about a dozen undergraduate and graduate students and four biology department faculty: Michael Chao, Heidy Contreras, Joseph Heras and Anna Zelaya.
