Coyote Days helped students find their people, resources and place at CSUSB

Free food, games and prizes may have drawn students to Coyote Days, but the bigger takeaway was everything waiting for them once they got there.

Cal State San Bernardino students kicked off the new academic year with two days of fun, connection and campus exploration, turning Coyote Days into a one-stop introduction to some of the people, programs and opportunities that can make their CSUSB experience even better.

Hosted by Academic Success and Undergraduate Advising (ASUA), the welcome-back celebration brought together academic programs, campus departments, student organizations and support services, giving students a chance to see just how much is available to them beyond the classroom.

Looking for help with classes? There was someone to talk to. Thinking about careers? Students could stop by the Career Center. Want to get moving, meet people or try something new? They could learn about Recreation and Wellness, student organizations and other ways to get involved.

Students could also connect with Basic Needs & Student Support, Services to Students with Disabilities, the Student Mentoring Program and representatives from academic programs across CSUSB’s five colleges.

And because exploring campus is even better with snacks and a little friendly competition, Coyote Days mixed all that useful information with free food, games and prizes.

Held Aug. 25-26 at the San Bernardino and Palm Desert campuses, the event gave students a relaxed way to ask questions, meet people and discover resources they may not have known about — no appointment necessary.
