As the fall semester begins, Cal State San Bernardino will welcome students back with Coyote Days and the Coyote Experience Kickoff, three days of activities designed to help students build connections, discover campus resources and begin the academic year with confidence. 

Hosted by Academic Success and Undergraduate Advising (ASUA), these events are part of Coyote Experience, CSUSB's student success initiative that supports students from their first day on campus through graduation by helping them find community, explore their interests and achieve their academic and career goals.

On Tuesday, Aug. 25, and Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Coyote Days will take place on the John M. Pfau Library Lawn at the San Bernardino campus and along the IW Walkway at the Palm Desert Campus. The celebration will feature free food, games, prizes and opportunities to connect with campus departments, student organizations and support services.

Coyote Days introduces students to the many opportunities available through the Coyote Experience. For first-time, first-year students, that journey includes the First-Year Experience, which features University Studies 1000, a success course designed to help students transition to college by providing the tools, support and confidence they need to succeed. Whether students are beginning their first semester or transferring to CSUSB, the Coyote Experience is designed to help them build a strong academic, social and personal foundation from day one.

At Coyote Days, students can connect with representatives from academic programs across CSUSB's five academic colleges, along with dozens of campus departments, student organizations and support services. Whether students are looking for academic support, career guidance, leadership opportunities, wellness resources or ways to become involved on campus, they can learn about resources such as Basic Needs & Student Support, Services to Students with Disabilities, the Career Center, the Student Mentoring Program, Recreation and Wellness and many more.

Throughout the year, students can take advantage of academic planning, student success support, academic skills workshops, First-Year Experience events and Interest Packs that help them explore their interests, discover career possibilities, connect with other students and get involved on campus.

The Coyote Experience Kickoff will take place Thursday, Aug. 27, from noon to 1 p.m. on the Santos Manuel Student Union North Patio. Hosted by the Student Mentoring Program, the event gives students an opportunity to meet their student mentors, make new friends and learn about the many ways to get involved on campus throughout the year. Often referred to as students' "first friend on campus," student mentors help new Coyotes navigate their first semester, answer questions, share campus tips and connect them with campus resources, student organizations and opportunities to get involved.

The events are free and open to all currently enrolled CSUSB students.
