“Hollywood Chinese: A Book and Film Presentation with Oscar®-nominated Filmmaker/Author Arthur Dong,” will take place Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the university’s John M. Pfau Library.
“Anthropocene: The Human Epoch,” a film discussing the geological and environmental impacts humans have had on the Earth, will be shown at noon, Wednesday, Feb. 5, in the Santos Manuel Student Union Theater, followed by a discussion.
The journal won the 2019 Gerald D. Nash History Journal First Prize, awarded by the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society.
At CSUSB, the program is sponsored by the World Affairs Council Inland Southern California, CSUSB College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, The Modern China Lecture Series, the CSUSB History Club and Phi Alpha Theta.
The 2019 Best Chapter Award from the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society also is the fifth award overall received by CSUSB students for their work.
The program includes an April 19 screening of the film based on the novel, an April 26 Yotie Talk, and, on April 28, a final student discussion.
The movie, which is also open to the public, will be shown Oct. 26 at the SMSU Theater, with the interview with Gore following at 3:45 p.m.
For the third time in four years, the History Club/Alpha Delta Nu Chapter at Cal State San Bernardino has been named the best chapter in the nation by the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society.
“A National Conversation about U.S.-China Policy,” with Susan E. Rice and Richard Madsen, will be held in the John M. Pfau Library, room PL-5005, beginning at 3:45 p.m. The public is welcome to attend; online pre-registration is requested.
