
Registration is free to participants, ages 8 months to 84 years old, of all abilities at the DisABILITY Sports Festival, which will run from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Twenty-nine Cal State San Bernardino faculty members have been awarded promotions and/or tenure for the 2018-19 academic year, which will be in effect this September.

The program, which began in the 2016-17 academic year, was created to build a stronger community between faculty and students.

Stuart Sumida, a paleontologist and professor of biology at Cal State San Bernardino, was one of the experts interviewed for a segment on the rollback of protected land in two of Utah’s national monuments: Grand Staircase-Escalante and Bears Ears.

Biology professor Stuart Sumida is considered one of the university’s best for his passion and commitment in teaching and working with students.

More than 800 participants, assisted by more than 250 volunteers, took part in the 12th annual DisABILITY Sports Festival at CSUSB on Oct. 6. The event focuses attention on adaptive sports and recreation, and participants’ abilities.

The university will participate in the annual “Great California ShakeOut” simulated earthquake drill at 10:18 a.m. As part of that, Joan Fryxell, a CSUSB geology professor, will lead a hike to the San Andreas Fault prior to the drill at 9:30 a.m.
