The College of Arts and Letters has launched an all-new podcast, a free audio program that offers an exclusive window into the ways CAL faculty, students, staff, and alumni are defining the future with innovation and creativity.

Hosted by Kelli Cluque, operations manager of Coyote Radio and Advertising, the program is accessible through the Apple Podcasts app, Spotify, the iHeart Podcast Network, and other podcast directories.

The new Performing Arts Center at Cal State San Bernardino, billed as “a beacon for the arts” in the Inland Empire, made its debut Spring 2026. Tiina Mittler has been named the Executive Director for its inaugural season. What a huge job she has!

Dr. Sunny Hyon, English Department, Professor of Linguistics

It's fascinating that Dr. Hyon received her PhD at just age 27! And with that, she also got her first professor job here at Cal State San Bernardino. In addition to being a professor of linguistics, Sunny is also the coordinator of CAL’s Professional & Career Readiness Center.

Folks from the Inland Empire mostly associate Barstow as a stop on the way to Las Vegas. But for Professor Getman, this is her hometown where she began her musical journey. Dr. Julie Taylor, Professor, Communication and Media

For someone who didn't like school, Dr. Julie Taylor stayed on through her bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees with encouragement from advisors. That's why she believes faculty advisors are so crucial to a student's success. And perhaps that’s why she was awarded CSUSB’s 2023-24 Outstanding Faculty Advisor. What an honor!

Dr. Erin Hall, Speech-Language Pathologist, Department of English

Dr. Erin Hall is one of the founding professors of our Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Master's Preparatory Certificate Program. She hopes to develop new programs in SLP to address the lack of public university options in the Inland Empire, and prepare students for well-paying and interesting careers in the field.
