Power to the San Bernardino campus has been restored as of 9:55 a.m. Normal campus operations will resume Friday, July 26th. Essential staff with questions on whether to report should contact their appropriate administrator. Facilities Management will be working to check all building systems including HVAC, elevators and fire alarms. If power has not been restored in your work area when you return, please report that to Facilities Planning and Management at (909) 537-5175. The Palm Desert Campus remains open and operational.

Investigation Mission Statement

CSUSB Police Department's Investigations Unit is dedicated to providing service with understanding, response with compassion, performance and integrity. Our Detectives strive to maintain working partnerships with the students, staff and faculty. We serve to the best of our abilities, and strive to obtain the cooperation and support necessary in the completion of successful investigations and methods of crime prevention.

Responsibilities

CSUSB Police Detectives investigate all types of crimes reported to the CSUSB Police Department. Detectives follow up on crime reports with workable leads or those that constitute part of an ongoing crime series. They secure, process, and dispose of physical evidence as well as establish and maintain liaisons with other law enforcement agencies, local courts, the District and City Attorney's Offices. The bureau participates in all forms of investigative activities including: conducting surveillance, undercover operations, serving arrest warrants and search warrants. Detectives are also responsible for monitoring and registering habitual offenders.

Vehicle burglaries can be prevented by simply locking vehicle doors and not leaving items of value in plain view.
