The Experiential Computing and Engaged Learning Scholarships (ExCELS) Program recognized its first scholarship recipients at a reception on Feb. 26. ExCELS aims to create inclusive and sustainable computational sciences workforce pathways to careers in the Inland Empire.

The California State University’s Super Sunday, set for Feb. 25, is an initiative that focuses on the importance of higher education. Black and African American congregations across California will receive presentations from CSU officials.
The $2.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation will provide $10,000 per year to support 30 students in affording their academic dreams in the field. The funding is set to last for 5 years and will ultimately impact the lives of 150 students.

The Mountain Communities Endowed Scholarship has provided financial assistance to mountain residents attending Cal State San Bernardino since it was established in 2003 by the Mountain Communities Scholarship Society.
These new scholarship recipients join a roster of more than 20 previous recipients from the past six years.
