
“Indian Boarding Schools: Assemblymember James Ramos in Conversation with Robert Levi Jr. and Dr. Daisy Ocampo,” is the title of the next program in the ongoing series. It will be presented at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, on Zoom.

The new program, hosted by Mark Agars, director of CSUSB’s Institute of Child Development and Family Relations, and Casey Leier, director of Research and Evaluation at Health Assessment and Research for Communities, is focused on the how we manage work and life, and how the two intersect.

Misealle “Ellie” Tolliver has been selected for the 2022-23 California State University Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Achievement, the CSU’s highest recognition of success.

Assemblymember James Ramos honored tribal elders for working to preserve Native American culture such as language, and songs such as the traditional Kaweah bird songs, by teaching them to younger generations of Native Americans.

Reneisha S. Wilkes, coordinator of the Renaissance Scholars Program at CSUSB, has appeared on the show 10 times over the years to talk about her community service efforts. She appeared as one of “The Lucky 13.” The show aired on May 25; the segment with Wilkes can be viewed online.

President Tomás D. Morales will be part of a panel discussion that begins at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, May 26, as part of the commission’s hearing, “Equitable Economic Development Across California.” The hearing will take place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, May 26, in person at the Riverside Convention Center or virtually on Zoom and Facebook Live.

Nearly 300 CSUSB students and alumni spent Saturday, April 23, to volunteer for Coyote Cares Day, a day of volunteer service on campus and in local communities.

CSUSB kinesiology student Evelyn Atencio and CSUSB psychology alumna Bianca Gonzalez are changing the lives of local youth through the nonprofit Big Brothers Big Sisters, which has led Atencio to win an award.
