Coyote Experience is CSUSB's student success framework designed to help you feel connected, confident, and supported from your first day on campus through graduation. Whether you're just starting college or transferring to CSUSB, the Coyote Experience helps you find your people, explore your interests, and build a path towards your goals.

Start Strong at CSUSB

Your Coyote Experience begins with the First-Year Experience, including a University Studies 1000 success course for all first-time first-year students. This course is designed to help you successfully transition to college life by giving you the tools, support, and confidence you need.

We also offer:

  • Student success support
  • First Year Events & Beyond
  • Academic Planning
  • Academic Skills Workshops
  • Interest Packs for Career Exploration

This is where you start building your academic, social, and personal foundations.

Explore your interests and find new people

One of the most exciting parts of the Coyote Experience is Interest Pack events, workshops, and opportunities. Interest pack events bring communities of students together by shared interests and passions. Interest packs help you explore what matters to you while connecting with students who are also engaged in learning about themselves and their interests.

Interest Packs focus on themes like:

  • Social Justice & Community Impact
  • Innovation, Ideas & Entrepreneurship
  • Science, Technology, & Research
  • Global Culture & Identity
  • Current Trends in Fashion, Art, and Creative Expression
  • Media, Music, and Celebrity/Popular Culture

Interest packs provide fun ways to explore majors, academic pathways, and career options by connecting what you care about to what you study and ultimately what you want to do after college.
