Former Foster Youth

A former foster youth is a former non-minor dependent, as defined by WIC 11400(v), who was in foster care when they turned 18 and is under the age of 26 at the time of any data request, regardless of whether the juvenile is receiving any child welfare services.

Students must be able to provide official documentation from the Department of Public Social Services (DPSS). Foster Youth services provided by applicable colleges may include student success support with priority registration, enrollment assistance, educational planning, and assistance with completing scholarship applications. There are numerous services available in your local community to assist you in achieving your academic goals.
