Educational Opportunity Center

The California State University, San Bernardino Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) program is a federally funded grant designed to assist eligible adults (19 years old and older), who desire to enter for the first time or re-enroll in college. The program's mission is to facilitate and guide students through the higher educational system by providing quality information, counseling, and other services free of charge.

Eligible adults includes veterans, military-connected family members,  students re-enrolling with a high school diploma or high school equivalency, community college students, trade or vocational school students, private or public four-year college students.

* Students without a high school diploma can still qualify for this program. We can assist with resources and information to obtain a GED and prepare for college.

What is EOC?

The Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC) is a federally funded TRIO Program. The program is designed to assist individuals 19 years and older, including veterans, military-connected family members enroll, re-enroll in a high school diploma, high school equivalency, community college, trade or vocational school, private or public four-year college. Program participants must be a U.S. citizen, national or permanent resident; live in or receive services in the target area and have a need for one or more of the offered program services.

Can EOC assist me with Financial Aid?

EOC does not provide direct funding. However, coordinators can assist students to complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA). Completing the FAFSA or CADAA can open doors for receiving grants, scholarships and/or loans.

What if I don’t know what I want to study in college?

EOC Coordinators have access to career inventories, which can be completed on site and reviewed. This provides information on your interests and what might be a good fit for your type of personality, work values, skills, interests and goals. 

Can EOC help me to earn my GED?

EOC can provide information to the nearest GED Program and testing center in your area. For more information on the GED Exam and testing centers go to: GED.com
