Hi. My name is Thomas F. Corrigan (or T.C.). I am an Associate Processor in CSUSB's Department of Communication Studies, and I am the Graduate Coordinator for the Master of Arts in Communication Studies graduate program.

Courses/Teaching
For the BA in Communication, I teach Media Institutions in Context (COMM 3301) and Digital Media and Society (COMM 3305). And for the MA in Communication Studies, I teach Introduction to Graduate Study (COMM 6000) and Qualitative Research Methods (COMM 6003). I also supervise Graduate Internships, Independent Studies, Theses, Projects, and Comprehensive Examinations.
Research and Teaching Interests
My research examines the relationship between wealth, power, and the media -- also known as the Political Economy of Communication (PEC). I'm specifically interested in Sports Media, the 'Hope Labor' of Digital Creatives and Interns, and Critical Research Methodologies. My work has been published in peer reviewed journals, such as International Journal of Communication, Political Economy of Communication, and tripleC: Communication, Capitalism & Critique, and my 'Hope Labor' concept (coined w/ Dr. Kathleen Kuehn) has been discussed in Fortune magazine. My research is cataloged on Google Scholar and on Academia.edu
