What's New
Starting in Fall 2026, the Economics Department offers a Bachelor's of Science in Quantitative Economics. This is a STEM-designated degree. For existing majors, no change in curriculum is required; students may switch from the B.A. to the new B.S. degree simply by changing their catalog year.
Both programs provide you with cutting-edge skills typical of economics programs.
How to transfer?
If you are seeking to transfer from a California Community College, you have come to the right place. An Economics-ADT degree from a California Community College allows a convenient pathway into Quantitative Economics at CSUSB.
More information on the process can be found here: Associate Degree for Transfer. Many Econ-ADT programs at CCC's have you take Accounting classes as well, making our Applied Economics Concentration an excellent choice.
If your college does not offer an Economics-ADT degree, let us know; there are other ways to make your transfer process smooth.

Because of the generosity of our alumni, we are able to offer generous scholarships to our students each year. Two average $5,000 and two more average $1,500. Students normally easily find their own internships (about 50% of economics majors work in the public sector) and can get course credit for performing them.
New (as of Spring 2026): The Economics Department has two interns currently working with Associated Students, Incorporated (ASI) as consultants to raise engagement in ASI events and elections.
