Alpha Delta Chapter of Omicron Delta Epsilon
Omicron Delta Epsilon, ODE, is one of the largest academic honor societies in the United States. It has a history dating back to 1915 when John Roger Commons and Frank Taussig founded Omicron Delta Gamma. ODE encourages the advancement of the discipline and excellence in economic scholarship. It also encourages the scholarly effort to make freedom from want and privation a reality for all mankind. The CSUSB chapter of ODE is called Alpha Delta.
To be admitted to the Alpha Delta chapter of ODE, the student must:
- Have completed 20 quarter units of economics course work with a grade point average of at least 3.00,
- Have an overall grade point average of at least 3.00.
Upon joining the Alpha Delta chapter of ODE, the student will receive a membership scroll and a one year subscription to the American Economist, the official journal of ODE. In addition, the student is expected to attend the Spring Quarter Honors reception.
Application forms are made available through the departmental office every Winter quarter.
