The annual Faculty-Staff Giving Campaign is now underway and runs through April 23.

The yearly campaign is now underway, and current and retired university faculty and staff are encouraged to participate by making a gift to the Basic Needs Program or to any college, department or program of their choosing. The campaign runs through April 23.

As part of our celebration of Black History Month, take a look back when Kerry Neal was named the major gift officer for the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Education. The appointment marked a return for Neal, who served as the director of development for the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration in 2006.

The CASE District VII hosted a “Homecoming Celebration,” recognizing the 2021 Awards of Excellence Winners, on Feb. 5. CSUSB won two Bronze Awards.

CSUSB received two CASE Bronze Awards for its work in creating a video and digital viewbook to communicate with students as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced the university to hold classes virtually.

Kimberly Shiner, CSUSB associate vice president for University Advancement, Office of Philanthropic Giving, has been appointed vice chair of the executive board of Leadership California.

Students in the Crankstart program are anticipated to be between the ages of 25 and 50 and demonstrate financial need, challenges or hardships, and commitment to obtaining their degree.

The Crankstart Foundation gifted CSUSB $120,000 in support of the Crankstart Re-entry Scholarship Program, which provides scholarships to low-income, underserved students who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree after a cumulative gap in their education of five or more years.

With its new name, the Office of Philanthropic Giving also welcomes an updated website and new working titles across the department.

The CSUSB Office of Development has been rebranded to the Office of Philanthropic Giving in order “to foster a culture of giving,” according to Kim Shiner, associate vice president for University Advancement.

Kerry Neal is the new major gift officer for the College of Education and the College of Arts and Letters.
