LGBTQ+ History Month

Cal State San Bernardino is proud to join the nation in recognizing LGBTQ+ History Month this October. The monthlong observance celebrates the history, achievements and contributions of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and allied communities, while promoting awareness, education and inclusion across campus.

Throughout the month, CSUSB will host a variety of events, including guest lectures, panel discussions, film screenings and student-led activities. These programs aim to foster dialogue, highlight the importance of advocacy, and honor the resilience of LGBTQ+ trailblazers who have shaped history.

LGBTQ+ History Month originated in the United States in 1994 and is now recognized internationally as a time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community’s progress and highlight the challenges that still lie ahead.

Students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to participate in events throughout the month of October.

A full calendar of events is available on the CSUSB Heritage Months website.
