Cal State San Bernardino will join communities across the nation in recognizing LGBTQ+ History Month in October 2026. The monthlong observance celebrates the history, achievements and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and allied communities while promoting education, inclusion and belonging across the university.

CSUSB will commemorate the month with a variety of educational, cultural and community-building activities at the San Bernardino and Palm Desert campuses.

The month’s activities are designed to encourage meaningful dialogue, connect students with campus resources, and recognize the resilience and contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals and communities throughout history.

Established in the United States in 1994, LGBTQ+ History Month is now observed internationally as an opportunity to celebrate progress, recognize LGBTQ+ trailblazers and increase awareness of the challenges that remain.

Students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to participate in events throughout October.
