The 13th annual Meeting of the Minds Student Research Symposium recognizes the outstanding scholarly and creative accomplishments of CSUSB alumni, graduate students and undergraduate students on April 11 from 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to view the research and creative activities at the Santos Manuel Student Union North and Center for Global Intelligence.

The Meeting of the Minds Student Research Symposium, free and open to the public, will feature over 250 oral and poster presentations, as well as art exhibits.

This year, Andrew Ramirez, a Ph.D. candidate in bioengineering at the University of California, Los Angeles, will give the keynote address, “My Journey as a First-Gen Queer Latino Graduate Student.” Raised in the Inland Empire, Ramirez is the son of Mexican immigrants. 

During his keynote, Ramirez will share insights into his academic path, participation in diversity programs, research endeavors and his role as a mentor for aspiring scholars. Lunch will be provided during the keynote address.

Hosted by the Office of Student Research (OSR), the event is an opportunity for students to refine their presentation skills while showcasing their talents and knowledge. Participants with the best oral and poster presentations will receive an award certificate and be recognized at the OSR Recognition Reception.

The Meeting of the Minds Student Research Symposium is part of CSUSB’s annual Research Week, which celebrates the research and scholarly achievements of faculty and students.
