Palestinian Film Festival postponed amid Israel-Hamas conflict; CSUSB professor’s documentary shown by festival organizers

The documentary, “1948: Creation & Catastrophe,” co-produced by Ahlam Muhtaseb, CSUSB professor of media studies, is one of the films being made available to Australian audiences by the organizers of the 2023 Palestinian Film Festival Australia, which postponed the event in the wake of the Israel-Hamas conflict. “1948” and the second film, “Gaza,” are being shared to “promote and increased understanding of what is happening in Occupied Palestine,” the organizers said. Both were screened at previous festivals.

The announcement was also in the online publication, WAtoday, “Australia’s Palestinian film festival postponed.”


Inland nursing programs recognized

A Cal State San Bernardino program that allows registered nurses to get their bachelor’s degree has been ranked among the best in California by an online career support site. Allnurses.com rated Cal State San Bernardino seventh among the top 12 RN to BSN programs in California, one of eight Cal State schools to make the list.
“This recognition underscores the dedication of our exceptional faculty and staff, and the commitment of our passionate students,” Jie Yu, chair of Cal State San Bernardino’s nursing department, in a statement posted on the school’s website.  “We are proud to stand among the top programs in the state.”
