Faculty Center for Excellence

Welcome to the FCE! 

We bring together faculty development opportunities from across CSUSB, including those from our Teaching Resource Center (TRC@FCE), Instructional Design and Academic Technologies (IDAT@FCE), Faculty Mentoring Program (FMP@FCE), and Extended Reality for Learning (xREAL) Lab units, as well as those from the Office of Academic Research, Office of Community Engagement, the Center for International Studies and Programs, and Writing Intensive Program. We are located in the Faculty Center for Excellence, Pfau Library PL-4005.

While, space permitting, faculty may participate in more than one of the TRC certificate programs below (Equity-Minded Teaching,  Assessments Remix, and Disability Justice and Accommodations), they will receive professional development funding up to $500 during the 2025-2026 academic year. Funds are limited and the pdf budget is capped at $10,000 per certificate program. 

The GenAI- related programs,  are funded separately so faculty may receive up to $750 in pdf additional to the $500 in the paragraph above.

In addition to the $500 for one certificate program, faculty can receive more professional development funds from Generative AI in Teaching and Learning, GenAI in Action, the Quality Online Teaching Program, the Teaching Skills Study Award, and through programs listed below from the FCE’s partner offices: Academic Research, Student Research, Community Engagement, the Center for International Studies and Programs, and the Writing Intensive Program.
