
Many of the newly minted CSUSB alumni are the first in their families to earn a college degree. “With this achievement you have broken a barrier and will now forever be a role model for siblings, relatives and future generations,” university President Tomás D. Morales said. Five commencement ceremonies took place May 16-17.

Jason Davalos, who lives in Palm Desert, will receive a bachelor of science degree in nursing at this year’s CSUSB College of Natural Sciences Commencement ceremony, taking place at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at the Toyota Arena in Ontario.

The event serves as a special opportunity to highlight academic excellence, as well as recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of graduating students.

Students from various disciplines presented their creative activities, scholarly works and research to faculty jurors who rated their posters.

New and returning students learned about academic tradition and campus life at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus at the event held Sept. 1.

These three new scholarship recipients – Oscar Diaz Soto, Madison Eves and Jason Davalos – join 15 other University Legacy Scholars from the previous three years.
