The CSUSB Faculty and Staff Giving Campaign returns April 6-24, inviting faculty and staff to donate to a fundraising effort that supports programs, departments and scholarships that directly impact student success.
The forum will provide members of the campus community an opportunity to share their perspectives on the qualities, experience and vision needed in our next president, as well as the priorities that will help move CSUSB successfully into the future.
Guillermo Escalante, associate dean in the College of Natural Sciences and professor of kinesiology, models discipline and applied expertise at CSUSB — on campus and in competitive bodybuilding. After a three-year break, he returned to high-level competition last summer, earning seven top 10 finishes.
Marc Fudge, professor of public administration, co-authored “Improving Equity through Fiscal Policy: Dashed Dreams” with author Marc Holzer.
Acclaimed soprano and CSUSB Opera Theatre director Stacey Fraser is celebrating a standout year, earning Favorite Opera Singer in the San Francisco Classical Voice Audience Choice Awards and releasing two critically praised albums, “My Dancing Sweetheart” and “A Chaos of Light and Motion,” among other achievements.
Stuart Sumida (biology), Johnny Coffeen (communication and media lecturer), Thomas Chapman (cybersecurity), Bob Miller (public administration adjunct), Brian Levin (criminal justice emeritus) were mentioned in recent news coverage. Also, Anahid S. Modrek, Dionisio A. Amodeo, Leslie R. Amodeo and Jason F. Reimer (psychology); Kevin P. Rosales (child development) and Matthew R. Des Lauriers (anthropology) recently published their research in their respective disciplines.
Cal State San Bernardino celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Faculty and Staff Giving Campaign in April, a tradition of generosity that has raised over $9 million, including 27 planned gifts totaling $2.5 million from current and retired employees.
Jacqueline Coyle-Shapiro, preeminent organizational behavior scholar and leader in the field, brings both intellect and impact to her research and teaching at CSUSB’s Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration.
Highlighting the events for the month will be the art exhibit, “What Were You Wearing?” which will be on display April 21-25 at the Santos Manuel Student Union North.
