Cal State San Bernardino’s Women’s Resource Center will host a “Take Back the Night” event to raise awareness about, and to bring an end to, sexual violence in all forms. The event, open to all, will take place from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at the Santos Manuel Student Union North Courtyard.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. “Take Back the Night,” which began in the 1970s with a Tribunal Council meeting in Belgium attended by more than 2,000 women representing more than 40 countries, is the oldest worldwide movement aimed at eliminating sexual violence, according to the Take Back the Night Foundation.

The CSUSB event is aimed at creating a safe, inclusive space where survivors of sexual violence are supported and community members can learn how to be allies in preventing sexual violence, according to its organizers. Food and refreshments will be available.
