Journey to the Beyond
The Ancient Egyptians’ attitude toward life and death has been fascinating us for millennia. Their pursuit of the eternal existence and provisioning for the journey to the BEYOND is the story of this exhibition, which presents, in a new context, objects from RAFFMA’s permanent collection and on loan from Dr. Benson Harer.

Lens as Witness: Photography and Resistance, 1960s - Now
Dr. Nicole Scalissi, a Professor of Art History and Global Cultures at CSUSB, alongside her talented students, has curated an exhibition that invites visitors to reflect on social justice and activism from the 1970s to the present, both on a national scale and specifically within the Inland Empire. This exhibition was an amazing collaboration with the Garcia Center, CSUSB Pfau Library, as well, as contemporary artists were invited from the Inland Empire to deepen, expand, or challenge ideas of social justice and/or activism now.

Beautiful Strangers: Ancestral Inspiration and Cultural Complexities
“Beautiful Strangers: Ancestral Inspiration & Cultural Complexities” was curated by costume designer and Professor Andre Harrington, featuring African artifacts from RAFFMA’s permanent collection. This exhibition confronts complex questions surrounding cultural inspiration and responsibility. It explores how creatives navigate their attraction to objects whose cultural contexts remain largely unknown, thereby reflecting the experiences of the broader African diaspora and the challenges of severed heritage.
